International conference dedicated to 350th anniversary of first print version of Bible in Armenian

It is our pleasure to inform you that an Application submitted to UNESCO in 2016 by Mashtots Armenian Culture Preservation and Development Foundation has been approved.

The project, titled “Pearl of Printing”, is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the first printed Bible in Armenian (1666) by Voskan Yerevantsi.

Within the framework of the project, several important events will take place at the “Matenadaran” Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, including international conference, thematic exhibition and publication of a bilingual album. The conference will be held in September, 2017.

Papers on the Armenian first printed Bible and old printed books will be delivered during the International Conference.

Historians, Art Historians, and other specialists who study old printed books are welcome to participate in the conference.

Those who wish to participate, please fill out the Application Form and submit it to the following emails: interrelmatenadaran@gmail.com; mashtotsfoundation@gmail.com by 31 May, 2017.

15-20 minutes will be allotted to each paper, and more 15 minutes will be allotted for questions and answers after each session. The official languages of the conference are Armenian and English.
